Gluten- and Dairy-free Baby Green Puffs

When we started on solid foods for Alexander, I really wanted to do two things:

- start with veggies
- keep it simple

Making all of his food so far maybe doesn't seem so simple but with just 6 ingredients and minimal steps really made this recipe easy and so worth it -- they're his new favorite snack! You could mix and match leafy greens and fruits so I'd love to hear what combinations you put together! 


  • 1 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 egg yolks OR 2 T flax seed + 6 T water
  • 1 Cup spinach
  • 1/2 Cup apple sauce
  • 1/2 Cup instant rice cereal
  • 1 tsp baking powder


  1. In a food processor add all the ingredients.
  2. Blend up until a smooth cream will be formed (4min)
  3. Spoon / pipe small circles onto parchment paper on baking sheet.
  4. Bake at 350 for 10, reduce at 250, and bake for additional 15-30 min up until light / golden brown around the edges.
Store in an air tight container for 1 week
